About Me
Yo.
Hi! I'm Heidi!
I'm so psyched you're here and beyond psyched to have the opportunity to support you on your health and wellness journey!
I first started learning about holistic/natural health back when I was pregnant with our first child 25 years ago after I found the pregnancy and natural birth section at our little local library. Since then, I have consistently educated myself on more natural, holistic approaches to health and wellness. There is so much awesome stuff to learn and apply! I love to learn and love to research! Before being a health and wellness coach was something I even knew existed, I was unknowingly preparing.
Probably because I am an outspoken and chatty gal, over the years people have naturally gravitated toward asking me questions about topics like homeschooling, positive parenting, and holistic and complimentary health topics. Being a natural advocate, I love sharing knowledge, supporting others and helping them expand their perceptions and resources, as well as studying more to expand my own.
All of this led to me pursuing a degree in Integrative Health and becoming a certified Health and Wellness Coach!
Woohoo!
Lots of random facts about me that you may or may not care to know:
I love the outdoors, water, and mountains. I love the beach, but think the actual ocean is beautiful but scary. I love to travel, but think that flying is scary - but I'm always up for a road trip!
I inherited the "rearrange furniture and rooms" gene from my Grandma and express it often. I love to think of ways to improve and change up the homes we live in, too - my husband and I have remodeled and flipped 4 homes, all while living in them! Fun times!
One of my first memories is of being a cute little 3-year-old standing in the dining room and thinking to myself that I wanted to have a lot of kids when I grew up! Growing up as the second youngest of 7 kids, I thought there weren't enough kids in our family. Needless to say, I've always planned on having a large family and am thrilled with my 9 awesome and amazingly cool kids!
I've always loved animals and had as many pets as my parents would let me when I was young - mostly fire belly newts, fish, a few bunnies, and eventually cats (and a few birds my cats ate) and a dog. I passed my love of animals on to several of my children and we have owned a variety of pets including hamsters and mice, rabbits, various reptiles including lizards and snakes, tortoises and turtles, exotic insects like giant millipedes and hissing cockroaches, and of course cats and dogs.
Starting when I was very young, I wanted to grow up to live on a farm. When I was expecting our 8th child over 10 years ago, we took the leap and moved to acreage and got our first farm animals! We've raised goats, chickens, ducks, and quail. We've had mini horses and a full sized horse as well as a bottle baby calf. I'm passionate about organic and regenerative farming, but have never had much luck growing a garden - something I endeavor to remedy!
I believe in holding babies, laughing and having fun, appreciating the beauty of nature, knowing where your food comes from and what's in it, not avoiding work or hard stuff, excessively using exclamation marks, parking far away to get more steps in, nourishing my body and enjoying all the yummy foods too, and especially the miracle of spell check.
I love drawing house plans, photography, pink flowers, taking walks while Marco Polo-ing, and watching all the episodes of Psych and Gilmore Girls on repeat.
And I love helping people like you enact the positive change you want in your life while addressing limiting beliefs and other stumbling blocks that may be holding you back or keeping you stuck.
Let's do this!
Love, Heidi
